Safety, Quality & Compliance

Systems That Keep the Vessel and the Crew, Ahead of Risk

At MDS, safety isn't a layer added after the fact. It's embedded in how we operate, how we train, and how we document. We manage ISM, ISPS and MLC with real ownership and real accountability. Risks are identified early, actions are tracked, and proof is always ready — not scrambled the night before an audit.

Routine-Driven Compliance

We turn safety protocols into daily habits. Checklists are short and used. Roles are clearly assigned. When something changes, we act fast and log the correction. Permits to work — for hot work, enclosed spaces, energy isolation — are issued and closed same-day. Drills follow a realistic calendar and capture both outcomes and gaps.

Logs, calibrations and test results are filed where crews can find them — not buried. Every task has an owner. Every deadline has a date. Near-misses are logged, not buried, because they help us get ahead of actual incidents.

No Surprises on Audit Day

We rehearse vetting before it happens. Evidence is organised. Gaps are assigned. Owners know their roles. On the day, the vessel and the paperwork tell the same story — steady routines, clear records, and compliance that runs itself.

Regulatory Management

ISM / ISPS / MLC requirements are monitored, documented and closed out — with clean trails for inspectors.

Audit Readiness

Smart checks before the visit. Less firefighting, fewer findings, faster resolution.

Drills & Risk Assessment

Real drills with real feedback — not just ticked boxes. Risks are reviewed regularly and tied to the vessel’s actual trade.

Environmental Compliance Without the Greenwash

We help owners meet their CII and SEEMP Part III obligations with practical tools and disciplined follow-up. Waste, ballast, emissions and energy use are tracked daily. We plan hull and prop care to preserve efficiency, and adjust passage plans to avoid wasteful steaming when weather or congestion hits.

MARPOL records are checked routinely. Spot audits verify OWS, ODME, incinerator and sampling records. Ballast exchanges meet trade requirements and are logged in real time. Crews are kept up to date with short refreshers on waste handling and spill response — so documentation and behaviour match.

Each owner receives a monthly summary of environmental actions: CII trends, interventions taken, and upcoming deadlines.

Raise the Standard on Board

Let’s review your current safety records and upcoming inspections. We’ll build a realistic plan that sets a stronger baseline — and keeps your vessel inspection-ready without the scramble.
